The decision to use a surrogate mother is always carefully assessed by a specialist and is based on clear medical indications. The most common include:
Damage to the uterine cavity – Asherman's syndrome, atrophic endometrium, complications after uterine surgery, for example after extensive myoma enucleation or repeated caesarean sections with a problematic scar.
Repeated pregnancy losses – after genetic causes have been excluded and all treatment options have been exhausted.
Congenital or acquired absence of the uterus.
Life-threatening complications in a previous pregnancy, such as early severe preeclampsia, eclampsia, HELLP syndrome or thrombosis with a risk of pulmonary embolism.
Indications from other medical specialties.
We transfer only one embryo into the surrogate mother's uterus, thereby minimising risks and supporting a safe course of pregnancy.
Our clinic provides the treatment itself – that is, the preparation and embryo transfer. Searching for surrogate mothers or mediating relationships between them and the genetic parents is not part of our care.
Surrogacy treatment is covered by health insurance companies in the same way as standard IVF, according to the applicable rules and indications.
